VNI Hampton Roads Neuroscience Conference
Members of the Virginia Neuroscience Initiative (VNI) from the Hampton Roads region will host the Hampton Roads Neuroscience Conference on Friday, December 1st at the Virginia Modeling, Analysis, and Simulation Center (VMASC). This event aims to bring together neuroscience and neuroscience-related researchers, clinicians, entrepreneurs, and other VNI members to present research, exchange new ideas, and network with fellow members in the region. Attendance is limited to the first 100 Hampton Roads VNI Members to register, so please register right away! Become a VNI Member here.
Panel discussion: The VNI Principle Investigators each member institution across the state will discuss what their institution has to offer in terms of neuroscience research, how the VNI fits into their institution's neuroscience research, and field questions from the audience. They will also elaborate on opportunities for statewide collaboration, core facility sharing, and specialties at their institution.
Poster Session: Local researchers will have the opportunity to present overviews of their research and facilities to the group. Poster presentations will be restricted to one per lab group, preferably presented by the lab director or a senior lab representative.
Lunch: Boxed lunches provided by the local VNI Insitutions
Speed networking: This is the perfect opportunity for participants to make connections with other members from different areas of neuroscience, other regional institutions, and a wide variety of research interests. Two 45-minute sessions will be made up of 5-minute encounters; please update your profile in the VNI Directory to include relevant research interests and keywords that will allow us to tailor your speed networking experience to your interests and needs. If you are having trouble with your login information, please email Alex Satoski at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Funding has been allocated by our local VNI institutions to support 1-3 research awards ranging from $10,000 to $40,000 each. Each lab must have a senior representative at the conference to be eligible for proposal submission. Full details on the application criteria, process, and awards will be provided during the Closing Remarks and RFA Announcement at the end of the Conference!
